Frequently Asked Questions about Coolidge Clinic
What does Coolidge Clinic provide?
They are a participating provider for The Well Woman HealthCheck Program (WWHP), for free mammograms.
What does Well Woman HealthCheck Program (WWHP) offer?
They help low-income, uninsured, and underinsured women gain access to breast and cervical cancer screening and diagnostic services, including clinical breast exams, mammograms, pap tests, and pelvic exams. They also help verify the eligibility and facilitate the enrollment of uninsured women in Arizona diagnosed with breast or cervical cancer or precancerous cervical lesions into the Breast and Cervical Cancer Treatment Program (BCCTP) provided by the Arizona Health Care Cost Containment System (AHCCCS).
What are the eligibility guidelines for this program?
You must be a woman. You must be a resident of Arizona. You must be uninsured or underinsured (have insurance that does not cover the services offered by the WWHP or have a co-pay of $100 or more for breast and cervical cancer screening and/or diagnostic services). You must not have Medicare Part B. You must not be enrolled in the Arizona Health Care Cost Containment System (AHCCCS), which is Arizona's Medicaid program. For breast cancer screening, be 40 - 64 years old (or any age 21 and over if you have symptoms, such as pain, a lump, nipple discharge, an inverted nipple, etc.) and not recently diagnosed with breast cancer. For cervical cancer screening, be 21 - 64 years old and not recently diagnosed with cervical cancer. You must not exceed the household income guidelines.
Why is it getting screened for cancer important?
It increases the chance to detect the disease early, when it is most likely to be curable.

Not all facilities that offer free mammograms are completely free to everyone. Many diagnostic testing locations are free, some locations require that you meet income eligibility criteria. Call and ask before making an appointment or fully read the description information we provide.
Would I be able to get a routine mammogram at your clinic? I have no history of breast cancer but recently have some breast discomfort. I have not had a routine mammogram for nearly two years. Would I need a physicians order to have this done? I am from out of state and do not have a family physician here. I stay at Florence Sun City for the winter months.
