Description

This clinic/office is a participating provider for The Florida Breast and Cervical Cancer Early Detection Program.

The Florida Breast and Cervical Cancer Early Detection Program (BCCEDP) makes it easy to get the breast and cervical cancer screenings doctors recommend. The screenings are FREE or LOW COST if you meet program eligibility requirements.

Mammography is the single most effective method of early detection of Breast Cancer, since it can identify cancer several years before physical symptoms develop.

Services include:

Breast and cervical cancer screening exams (clinical breast exams, mammograms, and Pap tests) to approximately 5 percent of the at need population as funding allows.
Diagnostic funds are reserved for women screened through the program.
Care coordination to all clients with abnormal exams.
Women screened through the program and diagnosed with breast or cervical cancer are referred to the Florida Medicaid Program for eligibility determination.
Paid breast and cervical cancer treatment through Medicaid for eligible women screened through the program.

Requirements:
Women ages 50-64
No insurance
Income limitations

*Requirements may vary based on location. Call your local health department to see if you meet your specific county's requirements.

*If you have symptoms, but do not fit the age requirements, check with your county to see if they are accepting lower age limits or if any other programs that meet your needs are available.

Cancers can be treated more effectively if they are found early, and Screening for Life can help you get the tests you need at the recommended times.

Refugee Health at Central Health Plaza provides mammograms in Florida. To obtain more details on eligibility please contact Refugee Health at Central Health Plaza directly by calling (904) 253-1740.

Free Mammograms

Not all facilities that offer free mammograms are completely free to everyone. Many diagnostic testing locations are free, some locations require that you meet income eligibility criteria. Call and ask before making an appointment or fully read the description information we provide.
